Unit 9 Technology  Reading: Life on the go

一、     教学目标设计

1、知识目标:(1)通过学习课文,了解手机给人们的生活和学习带来的变化,

                 手机的不同用途和功能以及学生使用手机的情况。

2)掌握课文有关词汇、短语的用法。

2、能力目标:(1)培养学生抓住关键词对具体细节理解和归纳文章主题、段落

                 大意的能力;

2)促进学生积极思考,自主、合作学习,勇于发言;

3)培养学生动手、思维以及用英语进行交际的能力。

 3德育目标: 引导学生正确认识科学技术的发展,树立正确的消费观,培养学生形成良好的公共道德。

二、     教材内容及重点、难点分析

1、 教材内容分析:本篇课文是阅读课,为本单元的第二课时,需要50分钟。主

    要介绍了手机在年轻人当中使用的情况,说明了手机的用途以及所产生的问题,分析了年轻人喜欢手机的原因。难度适中,内容涉及到现代科学技术在日常生活中的运用。

2教学重点:1)帮助学生正确认识手机所带来的各种变化和影响;

           2)学生通过归纳文章主题和段落大意来理清文章脉络,以达到

对文章进行整体理解的目的;

3教学难点:1)引导学生自主、合作学习;

            2)让学生用英语表达对手机的看法以及手机设计。

三、     教学对象分析

高一的学生已经具备了一定的英语词汇量和一定的语言基础知识;对手机很熟悉且喜爱。因此,对本课文的内容应能较快地理解和接受;能够在教师的指导下,和伙伴一起完成一定的阅读理解和动手设计。

四、     教学策略及教法设计

阅读课的重点是让学生提高阅读能力,掌握必要的阅读技巧,并学以致用。在教学中,我重点培养学生归纳文章主题、段落大意和理解文章的细节的能力。首先,在阅读文章前,让学生解读文章标题,推测文章内容;接着,阅读文章,归纳段落主题,理顺文章脉络;再就是就课文内容设计表格进行细节理解。最后延伸所学知识,组织学生讨论某个话题。为了培养学生开动脑筋,运用想象力,体验学习的乐趣,鼓励学生设计他们喜爱的手机,并组织一个模拟的产品洽谈会。

课本、录音机、投影仪和黑板。

教学过程

Step1  Presentation

Talk with students with the following questions:

1.    Does your family have a telephone at home?

2.    Who in your family often uses the phone?

3.    What do you use a phone to do?

4.    Have you got a cell phone?

5.    When do you usually use a cell phone if you have got one?

6.    What’s the difference between a cell phone and a public phone?

 

Step 2  Pre-reading + Individual work

Scan the text in 3 minutes and get the main idea of each paragraph.

Para 1  Wang Mei is an example of Chinese teenagers who have cellphones.

Para 2  Cellphones can be used for many things.

Para 3  Cellphones also cause problems.

Para 4  There are several reasons why teenagers like cellphones.

Para 5  Wang Mei explains why she likes her cellphone and what she uses it for.

 

Step 3  Reading + Individual work

  Read the text carefully in 7 minutes and then complete the following chart

Step 6  Extensive activity

1.    Ss design their own cellphones in pairs.

2.    A sales conference is held to introduce and sell the newly designed cellphones and at last the best design of a cellphone will come out.

设计思路与分析

 

设计简单的问题与学生交谈,可以活跃课堂气氛,激发学生的学习兴趣。这些问题旨在引出标题Life on the go: Life today calls for a high speed.

 

 

培养学生辨认general statementspecific description,寻找topic sentence或归纳大意的能力。

跟录音读,培养朗读习惯,加强语音语调的训练;同时,更好的整体理解课文。

复习是英语学习的关键。通过加深课文理解和练习课文的语言点来巩固所学。填空题就留在教室的投影仪上。

八、教学反思

1.阅读的教学应以学生的认知水平为起点,学生的生活经验为基础进行导入,让学生的认识与阅读内容衔接,容易接受所学的知识,并产生兴趣和求知欲,驱使学生探究此课题。

2.在教学目标和教法设计上,应以pre-reading为基础,引导学生尽力去找出文章的大意和一些具体的细节信息,重视学生阅读能力的养成;教法上应重视学生学习积极参与的主动过程并照顾到学生的不同学情和学习上的个体差异;培养学生的创造性和想象力。

3.阅读课不仅进行阅读技巧的训练,还应该进行阅读方法的指导。学生与学生之间存在个体的差异,他们有着不同的思维方式、基础知识和认知能力,以同一种教学法指导学生进行阅读,教给学生同样的阅读方法和做题技巧都是不科学的。
